Mother: Do you ever get on a mission when you decide you need something? If you read the blog, Let’s Talk Tee Shirts, then you know I’ve had an issue finding shirts. Needless to say since writing that I have been on a mission. Before that, I was on a mission to find shoes. We had a trip planned to Great Britain the end of April until husband got his cancer diagnosis. We have had to cancel the trip but that story is for another day. Back in the fall, I had started looking for comfortable walking shoes.
The Kuru shoe company is where I started. Husband has been happy with his shoes from them so why not? I had decided my wardrobe for the trip would be black and white. This color combo is my go to in all situations so I knew I wanted black shoes. If not solid black ones that coordinated with black and white. I had also decided I wanted slip on since I felt these would be easier especially at the airport. DSW, Macy’s’, Shoes.com along with Kuru and many many other sites were viewed on a daily basis. So far I have purchased six pairs. One pair of Sketchers, two pairs of KEDs, one Steve Madden, one Cole Haan and one from Kuru. When I am on a mission I not only search I purchase.
Last week the mission was camo pants/leggings. Someone had a blog post a few weeks ago showing a pair of camo pants. This blog got me on a mission. The blogger I think got her pants at Loft so I checked out their site but I had never gotten pants there so I was unsure about fit. So my mission continued. All stores seem to be having clearance and huge sales right now so I checked out every email I got pushing their sale. My usual site is Macy’s and for some crazy reason, I have a lot on my mind right now, I didn’t check there. But I did get an email from my second choice store Nordstrom’s and Eureka I found my pants. Nordstrom’s is ten minutes from my house across the street from Macy’s and they have free shipping both ways. All good if they fit.
Now on to my shirt mission. I do 90% of my shopping online. No one would have the energy to do shopping missions by foot I don’t think. This mission started at Macy’s but as I said the emails of sales is never ending so I branched out. It is doubtful that you could name a website I missed. There are shopping carts all over America with my name on them. Tee shirts are my main focus right now. Color is not as important as fit. Any color I would happen to buy would go with something I already have. From our LuLaRoe days, I have at least a dozen skirts that need tops. Then there are all of the pants, jeans and come spring capri’s that need something to wear with them. As of right now, I have three tees coming from The Gap and four from Macy’s.
An update will be done at some point as to how all of these shirts work. It is not just clothing that I gets me on a mission. Daughter was telling me about a bakery in Charleston that has Keto bake goods so I am trying to find one in Columbus. So far this mission has been fruitless but I find it hard to believe that a place as big as Columbus doesn’t have what I am looking for. A spice, a book, makeup, a trip almost anything can set me on a mission. I don’t I have an obsessive personality but I do have a one-way mind and once I decide I need something I am not happy until I get it.
Do you get on a mission when you decide you want/need something?
Until next time.
