Mother: I am doing a style challenge with Sylvia at http://40plusstyle.com/. She has given us a capsule wardrobe of nine pieces to utilize over the next five days. I can work with much of what she has picked, and will be using what I already have in my closet. Daughter has stepped away from the blog for a few days to take care of her hubby who had surgery on Sat. so this challenge came at a good time.
Monday was easy for me because the outfit that was chosen was very simple, white pants and a colorful top, this is how I dress on a regular basis. As proof I pulled three different tops out of my closet to decide which one I liked best.
My first pick was a Lularoe top that I bought last weekend. It is an Irma and you buy Lularoe from home stores or Facebook stores. Daughter and I plan on selling this clothing line by the end of the summer. It was ok but not the look I wanted.
The second top was from Macy’s the American Living brand. Again ok but still not what I was looking for. With flowy tops like this and the first one they tend to add poundage to a body. lol And Lord knows I need no help with poundage.
This top is from the JM Collection again at Macy’s. I think this will be either the second or third summer for this top. This shade of blue is a good color for me and I wear it alot. Because of the metal bar at the neckline and the sparkles on the top I wore no other jewelry other than my Apple watch and my diamond studs.
It is hard to see the shoes I wore so I took a picture of those by themselves. The pants are from Macy’s, again, and are Charter Club. They are pull on pants that fit very well and don’t add bulk at the waist, again, something I need no help with. The shoes are Anne Kline from DSW. I was afraid the shoes would be hard to keep on my feet but that has not been a problem. I wouldn’t recommended them for shopping or long walks but for some place like a picnic they work just fine.
My camera is not the best so pictures aren’t as clear as they could be. I have husband acting as my photographer.
